The latest inflation data in the US has given a green signal to a possible cut in interest rates by the Fed next week. US CPI for November: 0.3% m/m (0.3% expected, 0.2% previous); Core CPI remained at 0.3% as expected; Annual CPI increased from 2.6% to 2.7%. If CPI rises, can the Fed cut rates? Because a cut can increase CPI further. Right now the Fed wants to reduce CPI.
