Ansys (ANSS) and Synopsys (SNPS) have announced an agreement for Ansys to divest its PowerArtist business to Keysight Technologies, Inc. (KEYS). This transaction is dependent on standard closing conditions, which include regulatory review, as well as the completion of Synopsys' proposed acquisition of Ansys. This acquisition is awaiting regulatory approval and is anticipated to finalize in the first half of 2025.

Ansys and Synopsys have concluded that selling PowerArtist is essential to secure regulatory approval for Synopsys' acquisition of Ansys. John Lee, Vice President and General Manager of the Electronics Semiconductor and Optics business unit at Ansys, stated, "We are proud of PowerArtist's contribution to advancing low-power innovation in semiconductor design applications. PowerArtist will continue to thrive within Keysight's portfolio, serving as a leading, independent RTL power product that is not dependent on vendor-specific design implementation flows."

The financial impact of the PowerArtist sale on Ansys is not considered significant, and the terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. Until the transaction is finalized, Ansys will continue to offer PowerArtist as part of its existing product lineup.
