The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has announced its approval of the proposed acquisition of the British soft drinks manufacturer Britvic PLC by Carlsberg UK Holdings Limited, a subsidiary of the Danish brewery group Carlsberg A/S. The agreement for this acquisition was reached in early July, with Carlsberg set to purchase Britvic for an enterprise value of approximately £4.1 billion, to be paid in cash. The CMA initiated its investigation into the merger on October 23. This acquisition aims to consolidate Carlsberg's UK beverage operations under the newly established entity, Carlsberg Britvic.
