Dutch consumer spending continued its upward trend for the fifth consecutive month this past November, as reported by the Central Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday.
Household consumption recorded a 0.8 percent increase from the previous month, maintaining the same growth rate as observed in October.
During November, there was a 2.3 percent rise in the purchase of durable goods, with consumers particularly increasing their expenditure on electrical appliances and automobiles.
Additionally, household consumption of services grew by 0.6 percent. This growth was primarily driven by a heightened demand for transport and communication, as well as recreation and cultural services.
However, the CBS Consumption Radar in December indicated that consumption conditions were perceived as less favorable compared to November, largely due to a more pessimistic outlook among producers regarding workforce developments.
