EHang Holdings (EH) has disclosed a strategic collaboration with the Management Committee of the Torch High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Weihai City, Shandong Province, aimed at advancing the development of pilotless eVTOLs. In addition, EHang has entered into a procurement agreement with Weihai High-Tech Zone Cultural and Tourism Industry Investment Co. for an initial acquisition of 30 EH216-S autonomous passenger eVTOLs.

In partnership, these entities will spearhead the creation of a research, development, and manufacturing hub for pilotless passenger eVTOLs in Shandong. Furthermore, EHang and the Weihai High-Tech Zone are set to collaborate on establishing a low-altitude economy industrial park in the area. They also plan to introduce low-altitude sightseeing services at prominent tourist destinations.
