Finland experienced a slight easing in consumer price inflation following an increase in the previous month, while the country's economic output declined for the second consecutive month, as reported by Statistics Finland on Friday.

In November, the consumer price index rose by 1.0% compared to the same month the previous year, marking a deceleration from the 1.1% increase recorded in October.

According to the agency, the moderation in inflation was mainly influenced by a reduction in the average interest rates on housing loans and a decrease in the prices of petrol and diesel.

The annual decline in transport charges slowed to 1.5% in November from 2.05% in October. Meanwhile, clothing and footwear prices saw a rise of 1.91%, and prices for housing and utilities decreased slightly by 0.11%.

Month-on-month, consumer prices fell by 0.4% in November, following a 0.5% decrease in October.

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), an EU measure, showed a more pronounced increase, rising by 1.7% in November compared to a 0.5% rise in the previous month.

In a separate report, Finland's economic output was revealed to have dropped by 0.5% annually in October, though this was a slower decline than the 1.0% drop experienced the previous month. Notably, seasonally adjusted output increased by 0.4% from the previous month.

Sector-wise, primary production grew by 1.4% compared to last year, the secondary sector saw a decline of 1.7%, and service industries remained stagnant in October.
