In December, Indonesian consumer confidence reached its highest point in eight months, according to data released by Bank Indonesia on Thursday. The consumer confidence index increased to 127.7, up from 125.9 in November, demonstrating household optimism with any score above 100 indicating positive sentiment.
The bolstered consumer confidence observed in December was attributed to enhancements in both the current economic condition index and the consistently strong consumer expectation index. These improvements were seen comprehensively across all measured components.
Specifically, the current economic condition index rose to 116.0 from the previous month's figure of 113.5. Meanwhile, the consumer expectation index also saw an increase, reaching 139.5 compared to November's 138.3.
