Ireland experienced a rise in wholesale prices for the first time in four months this past November, according to data released by the Central Statistics Office on Monday.

In the manufacturing sector, output prices increased by 2.1% compared to the previous year in November, countering a 1.7% decline recorded in October.

The factory gate prices for food products saw a 3.0% increase over the past year, predominantly due to escalated costs associated with dairy products. Additionally, the price index for food items, beverages, and tobacco rose by 2.5%.

Conversely, the prices for chemicals and chemical products experienced a significant drop, declining by 13.4%.

Domestic sales prices witnessed a 1.2% increase in November compared to the previous year, while prices in the export market advanced by 2.3%.

Further insights from the data revealed a substantial annual rise of 18.9% in wholesale electricity prices for November, alongside a modest 0.9% increase in construction product prices.

Analyzing the month-on-month data, wholesale prices appreciated by 1.9%, following a 1.6% growth in October.
