Italy has experienced a continued decrease in its unemployment rate for the quarter ending in September, according to the latest figures released by the national statistics bureau, Istat, on Thursday. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 6.1% in the third quarter, down from 6.7% in the preceding quarter. For comparison, during the same period last year, the unemployment rate was higher at 7.7%.
Additionally, the data revealed a slight uptick in the inactivity rate among individuals aged 15 to 64, which inched up to 33.4% from 33.2%. Meanwhile, the employment rate improved slightly, rising to 62.4% compared to 62.2% in the prior quarter.
