Japan reported a merchandise trade deficit of 117.6 billion yen in November, as announced by the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday. This figure represents a notable improvement over the anticipated deficit of 688.9 billion yen and follows the 462.1 billion yen deficit recorded in October.
Exports rose by 3.8% year-on-year, reaching 9.152 trillion yen, surpassing the predicted increase of 2.8%, and growing from a 3.1% rise in the previous month. Conversely, imports decreased by 3.8% annually to 9.270 trillion yen, contrary to expectations of a 1.0% increase after having seen a 0.4% rise a month earlier.
