In November, consumer prices in Japan experienced a 2.9 percent year-over-year increase, according to a report released by the Ministry of Communications and Internal Affairs on Friday. This figure slightly surpassed the anticipated 2.8 percent rise and showed growth from the 2.3 percent recorded in October.
On a monthly basis, adjusted for seasonal variations, consumer prices increased by 0.6 percent, an acceleration from the 0.4 percent rise noted in the previous month.
The Core Consumer Price Index (CPI), which excludes the fluctuating costs of food, climbed by 2.7 percent annually. This figure also exceeded projections, which were pegged at 2.6 percent, and improved from 2.3 percent in the prior month. On a monthly basis, Core CPI increased by 0.3 percent, a slight deceleration from the 0.4 percent growth seen in October.
