According to a recent announcement by the Bank of Japan, Japan's producer prices increased by 0.3 percent on a monthly basis in December. This figure remains consistent with the results observed in November, although it fell short of the projected 0.4 percent rise. Annually, producer prices saw a 3.8 percent increase, aligning with forecasts and unchanged from the previous month after the prior figure was revised upward from 3.7 percent. The Bank further reported that export prices declined by 0.2 percent month-on-month and increased by 0.7 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, import prices experienced a decrease of 0.9 percent over the month and a 3.3 percent reduction over the year.
