For the past two decades, KONTAKT has served as the foundation for numerous film scores, popular hits, and an extensive range of remarkable instruments developed by NI and your favorite NKS partners. And now, a new era is on the horizon, bringing with it a host of exciting enhancements.

KONTAKT ENGINE IMPROVEMENTS:

Seven new effects have been added: Bite, Dirt, Freak, Raum, Twin Delay, Vibrato/Chorus, and Wow/Flutter.

Context menus now adhere to zoom scaling settings.

The rendering quality of raster images in Native UI based instruments has been improved.

MIDI files dragged out of Kontakt no longer display the copyright message.

NKG files are now visible in the Files browser and can be loaded or imported via double-click or drag and drop.

The maximum number of host automation slots has been increased to 2048.

The Legato button now works in all Tone/Time Machine modes except TMPro.

Clicking on the virtual keyboard while Kontakt is in Single view now respects the MIDI channel setting of multiple loaded instruments.

BROWSER IMPROVEMENTS:

A button has been added to load the first preset directly from the instrument tile.

Brand filtering has been added to the browser.

Sub-bank filtering is now available.

User-authored presets can now have sound and character type metadata edited in bulk via multi-selection.

A warning dialog now displays a list of files that failed to import.

The scroll position is set to zero when the result list is resized.

Resizing the window no longer resets the result list selection.

Folders starting with "-" can now be imported.

The content type now updates with the focused module slot.

INSTRUMENT BUILDING AND SCRIPTING IMPROVEMENTS:

The Kontakt Lua API has been introduced and can be enabled through the new Developer panel in the Options dialog.

Various options have been added for showing or hiding incoming, script-generated, and ignored events in the Mapping Editor.

The playback mode of the Source module can now be retrieved using the $ENGINE_PAR_SOURCE_MODE getter.

The Wave Editor now has an option to snap sample start/end to zero crossings.

The Wave Editor allows copying the sample end setting to all selected zones.

The "continue" statement is now available in KSP.

Real arrays can now be stored and loaded from NKA files.

The selection state of a zone can be queried using the $ZONE_PAR_SELECTED zone parameter, and a list of all currently selected zones can be retrieved using the get_sel_zones_idx() command.

The set_map_editor_event_color() KSP command has been added to change the color of script-generated events in the Mapping Editor, individually per script slot.

Snap to value or zero crossing options in the Wave Editor are now retained per instrument, rather than per zone.

Internal modulator and modulation target KSP information is always shown if the Developer Options checkbox is enabled.

TMPro polyphony can now be set to 0 via KSP to match the range of related parameters in the Instrument Options->Voice Handling dialog.

Snapshot files (.NKSN) can now be loaded from the File->Load… dialog.

Context menus in the Mapping and Group Editor have been reorganized.

The effect selection context menu has been reorganized.

FIXES:

The boolean "not" operator now correctly inverts a boolean expression consisting of only literals or constants.

The function call stack no longer collapses entirely if the "exit" statement is used at the beginning of user-defined functions, but only exits the currently called function.

KNOWN ISSUES:

In Pro Tools, the Kontakt window is cropped when zooming larger than available display size.
If updated to Kontakt 7.10 from a version before 7.9, reselect your audio device on first launch (macOS only).
