The Optigan® Archives Vol. 1 is an exclusive collection of loops and keyboard samples from the original Optigan/Orchestron studio master reels. This is the only authorized product featuring material from the Optigan® Master Tapes. Samples are provided in .wav format with associated Native Instruments Kontakt programs.
While the Optigan® sounded lo-fi due to its optical-soundtrack technology, the original master tapes retain hi-fi sound quality.
The Optigan® master reels archive musical elements from the early 1970s, covering various popular styles. Only a small portion of this material made it onto production Optigan® discs. This initial collection focuses on that portion and related out-takes. Future volumes will feature entirely new material—out-takes never released on any Optigan® disc.
