PepsiCo, Inc.'s subsidiary, Frito-Lay, has initiated a recall of its Lay's Classic Potato Chips due to the presence of milk, which is not declared on the packaging and is recognized as an allergen.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated that the recall applies to a limited batch of 13 oz. (368.5 grams) flexible bags of Lay's potato chips. These bags bear a "Guaranteed Fresh" date of February 11, 2025, and feature manufacturing codes 6462307xx or 6463307xx, with the UPC code of 28400 31041.

The affected product has been distributed to retail outlets and online distributors in Oregon and Washington, with purchases possibly dating back to November 3. The undeclared milk within these chips could trigger allergic reactions ranging from mild to life-threatening in individuals with dairy allergies. Fortunately, no allergic reactions have been reported so far.

Consumers with dairy allergies or sensitivities are advised not to consume the product and to discard it promptly.

This recall follows a similar incident in mid-December when California-based Cal Yee Farm LLC had to recall its chocolate and yogurt-covered products, Tropical Trail Mix, and Butter Toffee, also due to undeclared milk and other potential allergens.
