Quaker Oats Co., a subsidiary of the renowned food and beverage conglomerate PepsiCo, Inc., has announced a recall of specific batches of Pearl Milling Co. Original Pancake & Waffle Mix across 11 states due to the potential presence of undeclared milk, which is an acknowledged allergen.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has stated that the recall pertains to a select assortment of 32-ounce (2-pound or 907 grams) boxes of the Pearl Milling Original Pancake & Waffle Mix. These boxes bear the UPC code 30000 65040 and contain the batch code with a best-before date of BBD SEP 13 25 P. It is important to note that no other products from the Pearl Milling Company are affected by this recall.
The items, packaged in cardboard boxes, were made available for purchase beginning November 18, 2024. They were distributed to certain retail outlets in the states of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Utah, and Wisconsin.
The recall was initiated after Quaker, based in Chicago, Illinois, was informed by one of its retail partners of the issue. Individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk risk serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the affected products. However, as of now, there have been no reported allergic reactions associated with this product.
Individuals who have purchased this product and have a milk allergy or sensitivity should refrain from consumption and dispose of the product immediately.

Similarly, at the end of December, Ralph's Packing Co., based in Perkins, Oklahoma, recalled approximately 3,132 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) pork and beef bologna products due to similar concerns.
