Skanska AB, the Swedish construction firm, announced on Thursday that it has secured a contract with Collin College for renovation work at the Plano campus in Plano, Texas. This contract, valued at $68 million or approximately 720 million Swedish kronor, will be incorporated into the company’s US order bookings for the fourth quarter.
Scheduled to commence in January 2025, the project is anticipated to be completed by August 2026. The renovations will cover 19,500 square meters of existing structures and include several key areas of improvement. Skanska will undertake the installation of a new roof, transformation of current offices and classrooms into laboratories, updates to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as expansions of the kitchen, dining areas, theater, and the establishment of a new police office.
Additionally, the project will involve a general update and reconfiguration of administrative areas, common areas, and classrooms. This contract marks the fourth campus that Skanska is developing for Collin College, according to the company.
