In October, Slovenia's employment figures hit a record high for the second consecutive month, driven primarily by a noteworthy rise in youth employment, according to preliminary data released by the statistical office on Tuesday. Employment increased by 0.3 percent, equating to 3,200 individuals, bringing the total number of employed persons to 947,800. This marks the highest employment level since data tracking began, as reported by the statistical office. Year-over-year, this represents a 1.1 percent increase.
In October, the number of individuals in paid employment rose by approximately 3,000, or 0.4 percent, while the number of self-employed persons increased by around 200, or 0.2 percent.
Youth employment, specifically among those aged 15-24, surged by 4.0 percent, or about 1,700 individuals. The statistical office attributes this growth to young people entering the workforce after completing their education earlier in the year.
