Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV) has announced that Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Tammy Romo, along with Chief Administration Officer, Linda Rutherford, will both retire from their roles, effective April 1, 2025.
The company has indicated that a search will commence to identify Romo's successor.
Romo embarked on her journey with Southwest Airlines in 1991 and has contributed significantly over the past 33 years in various leadership capacities. Her roles have included Head of Investor Relations, Controller, Treasurer, and Senior Vice President of Planning, culminating in her appointment as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer in 2012.
Rutherford joined the Southwest team in 1992 as a Public Relations Coordinator, following her experience as a news journalist. Her tenure at Southwest has predominantly been centered on communications, having dedicated seven years as Chief Communications Officer before transitioning to her current position as Chief Administration Officer.
