Spain's unemployment rate fell to its lowest December level since 2007, according to labor ministry statistics released on Friday.
In December, the number of unemployed individuals dropped by 25,300, or 0.98%, compared to November. Total registered unemployment stood at 2.56 million, marking the lowest December figure since 2007. On a year-over-year basis, unemployment declined by 146,738.
A sectoral breakdown revealed a decrease of 21,408 unemployed in the services industry and 2,019 in the agriculture sector. However, the construction industry saw an increase of 4,396 unemployed, while the industrial sector experienced an uptick of 875.
Additionally, the data highlighted a significant reduction in unemployment among people under 25, with a decline of 10,903 individuals or 5.54% in December. Registrations reached 185,801, setting a new record low for the month.
