Sweden's foreign trade surplus experienced a decline in November compared to the previous year, as indicated by data released by Statistics Sweden on Friday. The trade surplus narrowed to SEK 7.2 billion, down from SEK 10.4 billion in the same month of last year. For perspective, October recorded a trade surplus of SEK 1.1 billion.
When analyzing the year-on-year figures, exports saw a 4.0 percent decrease, while imports fell by 3.0 percent. Breaking it down further, the trade balance with non-EU countries resulted in a surplus of SEK 24.8 billion in November. In contrast, trade with EU countries showed a deficit of SEK 17.6 billion.
Adjusting for seasonal variations, the trade surplus in November stood at SEK 4.7 billion, a slight increase compared to SEK 4.2 billion in October.
