Vestas Wind Systems A/S, a prominent Danish manufacturer of wind turbines, has announced the appointment of Jakob Wegge-Larsen as the new Chief Financial Officer and member of its Executive Management team. He is slated to assume the role of CFO in the second quarter of 2025, succeeding Hans Martin Smith, who departed Vestas in December 2024 after over two decades of service to explore new opportunities.
In the interim, Rasmus Gram will continue to serve as the acting CFO until Wegge-Larsen officially steps into the position. Wegge-Larsen transitions to Vestas from his current role as CFO and Management Board member at DB Schenker. His prior experience includes significant global and regional CFO positions within the Maersk Group, Hamburg Süd, and MSC Denmark, amassing over 20 years of expertise in the logistics and shipping sectors.
Henrik Andersen, President and CEO of Vestas, expressed his confidence in Wegge-Larsen, stating, "Jakob will lead our Finance organization as we strive to attain our ambitious long-term goal of double-digit profitability.
